Pros
You feel your progression in terms of performance. The process in place is a key factor to this, and the department I was in was a huge help to this too. Helping each other out is a felt value (not necessarily stated, but it happens organically )
Cons
Learning and employee development isn't spearheaded by management, its a trial by fire type of learning. Brownbag sessions happen yes, but the meat of it happens as you go along. Not necessarily a bad thing, but also, would be nice to have a set structure for upskilling and development.
