Pros
The students are great to work with, and you have a great opportunity to serve as a true support person for them in helping them achieve their educational goals and transition to adulthood.
Cons
Everything. Management is awful. Everything is underfunded. They do not care about their employees or students. All they cared about was what church you went to and how often. They paid no attention to people's actual actions. Coaches were frequently left in place far too long when they didn't have the students best interest in mind simply because they were a "good christian" despite their actions suggesting otherwise. I frequently saw them treat students poorly, minimizing their needs due to their own egos. They punished kids by suspending them for having mental health issues, but then tried to paint a pretty picture that it was "for their own good". They minimize students concerns, brushing things under the rug. They frequently let go older more experienced staff for younger staff to cut costs. They failed to innovate. Staff members would often bring up new programs or try to improve the department and experience for students and were often shut down. There is no equality, and management is belittling and flat out lies to your face. Take my advice and simply don't waste your life away here. They are a sinking ship.
