Pros
I spent 2 years with MAMMOTH after working in a toxic environment elsewhere, and I can honestly say that there's an overwhelming atmosphere of friendliness and positivity within the content team. It's really restored my faith in the industry!
Had the opportunity to work on some really nice projects which made the run-of-the-mill stuff that keeps the lights on totally worthwhile. I feel like I improved a lot while I was there both from getting time on these jobs and (now) formalised weekly training time.
The location is pretty central with reasonably priced parking nearby on corporation street, and a Tesco downstairs. Goes without saying that there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and amenities nearby.
Line manager always kept the fridge well stocked with beer, and there's free tea and coffee available. Instant boiling water from the taps and tidy/spacious bathrooms available in a brand new office space.
I also came out as Trans while with the company and had an overwhelming amount of support from the whole team which I was very thankful for.
I was given a significant pay bump based on my performance each year, so if money's your thing then work hard and you'll reap the benefits.
Cons
I feel like i'm clutching at straws trying to come up with cons.
There have been some issues with COVID as can be expected with multiple moves to working from home and back to the office, but i'm sure this is the same everywhere.
Some of the newer employees have experienced issues with Payroll regarding tax brackets so just make sure you have your records in order for when you start and you'll be fine.
Recently there's been a trend to taking on unpaid interns instead of placement students, and even though this isn't something unique to MAMMOTH it's not something i'd have liked to see continue.
