After the phone interview, I received an email stating that they were postponing the decision due to a committee member’s absence or something similar. They mentioned they would update us within a few weeks. However, I waited for over a month without any communication. The email had given me a positive impression, so I was hopeful. But learning that they hired someone with excellent qualifications without even informing me after the phone interview feels unprofessional. If they were not considering me further, they should have communicated that earlier, rather than leaving me waiting with false hope.
