Pros
Supportive colleagues, good work culture in other departments, and overall stable company policies.
Cons
I had to leave Manappuram Finance just because of one individual, who is the DGM of the PPI and AD Compliance department. She repeatedly body shamed me for my dark skin and physical appearance, made bad caste-based remarks, and mentally harassed me on a regular basis. Her behaviour was toxic, mean, and emotionally distressing. Unfortunately, this is not just my personal experience, most of her team members face similar treatment. Many of them are willing to raise a formal complaint if there is ever a fair and safe platform available to do so.
She does not possess the qualifications or leadership qualities expected from someone holding such a senior position where she only has a bachelor’s degree and carries an inflated sense of authority. To make things worse, she is constantly supported by her top managers, who chooses to ignore her behaviour. The POSH committee in the organisation is extremely weak and ineffective, leaving no proper mechanism to seek justice.
Because of her presence, the entire department becomes a mentally exhausting environment. It is unfortunate, as Manappuram is otherwise a good organisation with supportive colleagues and a generally professional atmosphere. But as long as such individuals remain in positions of power, capable and sincere employees will continue to suffer and eventually leave.
