Pros
Great staff of experienced, hardworking, nice people. Frequently get to see famous people like Senator Gilibrand in the studios. Provides staff with good media education and community resources. Good food at the staff meetings.
Cons
The CEO runs the whole operation in a paranoid and distrustful way. The team spirit and morale in the building is very low because of his incompetent choices and constant interference and terrible judgement. He puts people in jobs that they shouldn't be doing and then gets upset when they are not good at things they were not hired to do. A good boss who is a good planner would never make this mistake but this mistake is made all the time at MNN. He gets upset about all the bad reviews here on Glassdoor but he never thinks to look in the mirror and change his ways. The executive team is threatened by people who have experience and know what they are doing and would rather undermine them than support them. HR is not very reliable, because they work lock step with management and are not a help in dealing with problems. Its a very unhappy environment with a lot of nice people who are very dejected working for bad management and I had to leave to get away from it. My health improved a lot after I did. The executives all make a lot of money and the salaries for everyone else are poor. Their salaries are publicly available and it's shocking what a grift this is. So this isn't worth it. You can find a better workplace than this.
