It’s a place to work - Case Worker Maric Healthcare Employee Review

Pros

Good place to get started. Leadership is only concerned with passing CARF, so as long as you keep certain paperwork updated you can do what you really want. No real oversight, they don’t really check your work, training was just me sitting with the person who was leaving and “figuring out” work arounds. Early morning hours help with work/life balance.

Cons

Leadership doesn’t seem to have a clue. No real structure or plan or goals. Pay sucks, benefits suck, staff is toxic. Each location has its own rules. I literally worked with Drs that were running their own businesses within the offices. Seeing 2 sets of patients. It was reported for a long time before any action was taken. Patients got high in the parking lot or slept in the waiting rooms. Clinic was run down and understaffed. I heard there was a major lawsuit and the company had to pay back millions of dollars (can’t confirm) but, they did have major layoffs and several positions not back filled. They got rid of the people that reviewed charts and helped you get it right. Leadership ran off competent staff to hire less competent friends.

Pros

Co-workers are outstanding from reception to nursing to counselors and PD. Everyone works hard, but do not get adequate support or appreciation from NC admin.

Cons

Administration has the big picture, but insufficiently interested in better training on EMR and communication flow to make clinic processes more efficient. Number crunchers who do not show enough appreciation to staff, too top-down, and do not want to give physicians adequate hours to do the job properly. High turnover rate for counselors.
