Pros
Staff Benefits are reasonably competitive. A Big Name Organization like Marina Bay Sands is always a welcome inclusion on your resume. Some departments do have better management and opportunities for promotions than others.
Cons
Promotions, increments and bonus are not transparent. Requests to handle transfers are also unprofessionally handled by the HR. Full disclosure, but I was hoping to request an internal transfer from my department. However, the process at which I had to go about it was restrictive and insensitive, making the process an uncomfortable and almost impossible endeavor. One is expected to disclose their INTENTION to transfer to their current bosses even before HR would agree to arrange for an interview with said other department. This comes with unnecessary risks as an employee, as it A) does not 100% guarantee the interview with the other department would be successful, B) Opens the interview to potential internal sabotage C) potentially jeopardizes the relationship with their current boss, should the employee still choose to remain in their current position. I say it is unreasonable to demand this, as it is not a requirement imposed on interviewees that are writing in from other companies. There needs to be more sensitivity when handling internal transfers rather than concern for head count , because with lack of options within the same organization, employees would be driven to seek employment elsewhere.
