Pros
They pay pretty well and have a generous share compensation program. As an analyst, you are given a fairly large amount of responsibility and opportunity to influence the recommended trades somewhat quickly. You certainly feel that your'e making a difference in peoples lives right when you get there.
Cons
There are two main things that bothered me in my time at Marketwise. The first is that many of the promotions and overall content leans conservative, and at times it toes into the far right conspiratorial realm. This was a tough thing to work around as a left leaning person. They feed into some of the misinformation that we've seen affect mostly older people about biden and the left, and a substantial amount of their content feeds into a distrust of government and the federal reserve. At times it's warranted, given the topic. However, most of the time though it's not. So if you're a left-leaning person non-conspiratorial person, this will be hard to stomach.
The other thing that sucked was the company propping up the copy department above all else. It makes business sense, as the copy team directly generates revenue. But these copy writers aren't analysts or come from a deep financial background, so you'll be tasked at correcting their promotions which can be very awkward.
