Pros

Good salaries and immediate benefits from day 1.

Cons

Old white bous club. Doesn't matter if you stay later and are a true progressional, they'll have you actually clock in and out at the door. Come in at 8:02am and someone will say something unless of course you're a Salesman. No flexibility! So don't even think about taking an extra 1/2 for lunch to go to a doctors appt. You will actually have to take a minimum of 2 hours out of the measly vacation / personal time allotted.

This is an interesting review - we do not have any salesmen, rather we have independent contractors and we are also a minority owned firm. We have also never had a female employee; contractors yes. Glassdoor should require that people prove they were affiliated with a firm before allowing ridiculous posts.

Pros

B/C it’s a smaller shop, once you prove you know what you are doing, very little micro management, giving you exposure to a wide variety of functions. Also the sector focus is diverse, so again good exposure to a wide variety of trends investments and industries.

Cons

Small shop, so don’t expect a formal review process or structure. If you are fine with that, great place. If you need robust process and structure, then you might have problems adjusting.

Pros

There's a ton of deal flow and work to go around so you know you'll never get bored at MCG. Culture is fantastic, one where no one will be breathing down your beck as long as you do what you need to do so you're responsible for being responsible in a way. If you can prove yourself, there's certain room for growth. For an analyst, it's a great place to learn because the senior guys have bulge bracket experience and are happy to help when needed and training program is also given to those in need. If you're looking to learn about a mix of industries, MCG will give you that experience. Overall, ton of upside opportunity.

Cons

There's just not enough human capital... MCG needs to hire more people who are capable of doing the work specific to the sectors firm covers.
