Pros

-Work with schedules great (I'm a full time student) -Get along with majority of people I work with -Late? They don't care and wont say anything to you. (But you're fellow associates will. They'll be working your job, plus their own!)

Cons

-Will not fire people. Ever. (You'll have to steal first!) - Don't like someone? Better get use to them, because management won't yell at them or fire them. (We've had numerous people be no-show/ no-calls and they're still there months and many, many, many no-show/no-calls later.) Management doesn't care because it becomes YOUR problem to cover their job, plus your own. - Ask for something? Complain? In one ear out the other! - Want to move out a department and into another? Forget it! Management doesn't care and wont bother training you! -Hours? Forget about them! The average person gets under 10 a week during "non-Christmas" season. Some people will go weeks without any hours! (This is basically a sign for you that they're trying to get rid of you.) -Call out or need a day off? Be prepaid for your hours following weeks to go down. - This place cares about credit card applications. They've told me to ask people coming in and/or out of the fitting room. (I refuse to hound people. If they want one, they'll ask for one!) -Want a raise? You'll have to wait until your review comes around. And you'll be happy if you're given 10 cents. Yippie? -This place claims to have no payroll- hence while you'll get no hours. (I know this store gets thousands of dollars a day. Even on bad days. You have to have some payroll people!)

Pros

The work is the same every day (at least for janitors), and you don't have many surprises. In my experience, there is a lot of leeway for who does what as long as it gets done. I don't personally mind helping out in all departments after I am done cleaning. Current store manager (not asms) is very nice and understanding.

Cons

The management (Assistant managers in my experience) is at each other's throats to be the best out there and suck up to the district manager. The pressure to coerce customers into buying into the TJX card is a bit much. It all trickles down to the front end, which then causes everyone to be unhappy. Compensation is low and raises are based on company loyalty first, then your efficiency.
