Pros
The managers I currently have are amazing. They seek to please the customers but they have a backbone and will not throw workers under the bus to please a customer. Scheduling is also very flexible but that also depends on the manager at your location. Along with that the company does set aside certain days in the month where food is provided. It is usually on holidays. Full meals usually occur during major holidays while small snacks occur on the lesser holidays. Job is not that hard, it can be difficult some nights but that also varies with the customers. Coworkers are great, but that is also unique to each location.
Cons
The biggest downsides are the customers. Marshalls for some reason, at least at my location, attracts dirty clienteles. This makes recovery difficult for sales floor associates. Along with that they constantly push you to get TJX credit cards. It is basically "gold" to them. If you are uncomfortable pushing people to get credit cards, this is not the job for you. The pay could also be better. It can be frustrating some nights when you're recovering (cleaning) an entire department, being called up for back-up cashier, having to push out freight, and covering people's break, and all you are getting paid for it is minimum wage. There are easy days when, I am seriously questioning, " Am I really getting paid to this?" and other days when I am questioning, " Why am I doing all of this for minimum wage?" There is also a lack of benefits, no PTO or vacation days.
