Pros

Flexible work hours Nice co workers

Cons

This company does not care about your safety or about you. They expect you to come into work even when you are sick. They use dirty rags to "disinfect" surfaces during covid. You cannot tell customers to say six feet away from you or tell customers to wear a mask because of "company policy". They will also dismiss your concerns about your safety during this time unless you go to the doctors and get a note. Management is horrible to communicate with. They only care about the payroll and tjx cards. Make sure you're a favorite. Only favored employees get days off or get promoted. Management has a huge communication issue. They will yell and scream at you for not being able to come into work. I was forced to stay at work for an extra hour when I got a call from a family member in the emergency room. They will try to scam you out of your money. One time the company was short on payroll, and told employees they couldn't clock in 5 minutes before. They also will "erase" your raise if minimum wage happens to go up. You'll work there for three years and make the same as a high school student that just started. If the cleaning person happens to be absent, get ready to clean toilets and bathrooms.

Pros

The work is the same every day (at least for janitors), and you don't have many surprises. In my experience, there is a lot of leeway for who does what as long as it gets done. I don't personally mind helping out in all departments after I am done cleaning. Current store manager (not asms) is very nice and understanding.

Cons

The management (Assistant managers in my experience) is at each other's throats to be the best out there and suck up to the district manager. The pressure to coerce customers into buying into the TJX card is a bit much. It all trickles down to the front end, which then causes everyone to be unhappy. Compensation is low and raises are based on company loyalty first, then your efficiency.
