Pros

The people here are genuinely nice and friendly SZÉP card and Medicover benefit and learn/developement budget The team events when the budget is not frozen or limited

Cons

Limited availability of food and snacks in the office No travel support provided (e.g., BKK pass) No sport or wellness benefit programs anymore Very few team or company events Bonuses are extremely difficult to achieve and seem attainable only through exceptional overperformance Limited opportunities for career progression or advancement Salary levels are lower compared to similar companies, despite regular claims of market benchmarking — unfortunately, this is not reflected in practice Employees feel closely monitored and are often expected to accept decisions without meaningful dialogue, which contrasts with the company’s stated commitment to transparency A year ago, I would have confidently recommended this workplace to others, but unfortunately it no longer reflects what it used to be High employee turnover rate and no replacement or salary adjustments Workload is high while compensation and recognition remain limited

Pros

Everyone is on the same page, really driven and wanting to do well in their careers. There is a really strong support network and everyone seems to genuinely care about others and how they can help them in their working environment. There appears to be much room for growth and movement within the company, and it's refreshing to come across heads of the business that actually seem like normal, friendly people who are interested in what you have to say.

Cons

So far, I haven't come across any cons. As long as you are hardworking and want to genuinely go far in your career, you'll be fine

Pros

Like most people are saying, there are some great people here - though many are leaving.

Cons

There’s no clear strategy , the work is very reactive, resources are being cut everywhere and people are burntout. The senior leadership team lack experience, diversity and integrity. Their confidence in their ability to innovate and bring stability is misplaced and it shows in how often goals, processes and priorities are changed. They are always meddling in road maps and solutions, sometimes pushing projects that are detrimental and unfair to customers. When you challenge decisions like this you’re seen as a problem. This instability leads to micromanagement and they show clear favoritism across the org for yes-men with little to no discernible leadership skills or expertise, and a precarious grasp on empathy and common sense. There is a lot of ego and volume beats substance most of the time which is why so many projects don't work out as planned and you end up rehashing the same ideas over and over again with v little progress. Any hint of self reflection mostly proves to be performative so mistakes are repeated and profits and culture is eroded. Those who have real skill, ideas and foresight are often sidelined or kicked out. Talented individuals carry workloads that would be shared by entire teams in other companies of similar size, and killing it, and still made to feel like they’re not good enough. Expert advice is dismissed or challenged with unhelpful feedback, and goalposts are moved all the time which makes it difficult to take ownership, move fast or get results. Even when you meet or exceed targets, vague company values are easily weaponized to slow down recognition and progression. The push to use AI for everything is without strategy or understanding and everyone is left to figure it out themselves while being tracked on how much they use. The customer experience is already much worse because of this yet people are being made redundant left right and centre because ‘AI can do the job now’ which isn’t true and I hope they figure this out sooner rather than later. When others have mentioned the impact of unpredictable management and changing priorities in Glassdoor reviews, Marshmallow have replied saying they support teams through these changes. This was not my experience - I’ve seen teams lose leaders and resources who were left to pick up the pieces then penalized in performance reviews for not delivering at the same pace as before.
Other replies have focused on how these changes are normal and necessary, but that certain people will find it challenging. They make out it’s part of the fast paced nature of tech, but it’s on a different scale entirely and most people are exhausted. Implying that it’s a personal weakness perfectly demonstrates the increasing toxicity of the company, which is hidden better in some teams than others. It’s a shame because there was a lot of enthusiasm in the business to do things differently and do things well. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when this changed and it’s hard to understand what the SLT expect the trajectory to be when they disregard the customer, staff and the product like they currently do.
