Pros

Good benefits, good PTO, generally good culture, though depends on your team. It's a huge company. They do a good job with policies that apply across so many different types of jobs.

Cons

Part time benefits are pretty terrible and the info about it is very limited. Retirement contributions are low (2% match only vested after 3 years). Movement within company is limited at least within my role. Compensation is not very high compared to industry roles Research assistants and other entry level roles have very low compensation, even compared to similar institutions in boston area. MGH seems to be using brand recognition as currency, allowing them to provide lower compensation.

Pros

A lot of resources, well supported and trained staff, very protocoled.

Cons

Low pay, high turnover, too many changes with the merge with not enough communication. Choosing to hire more people and expanding the hospital without compensating those already staying and putting in more work.

Pros

Job security and everyone on my team is great

Cons

MGH is very big and sometimes that makes it hard to find the right person to ask for help/support. A lot of systems are automated so when I’ve had to call HR or occupational health, I’ve had to go through multiple phone menus/transfers to talk to someone and hope it was the right person.
