Good pay but toxic and micromanaged environment - Sales Associate Massimo Dutti Employee Review

Pros

The pay was better compared to other companies, although still not great. 25% employee discount at Inditex.

Cons

Such a TOXIC environment. I could honestly write a whole book about it. You’re basically not allowed to talk to your colleagues while working, and you can’t even take one minute to calm down without someone complaining that you’re doing “nothing.” The micromanagement is honestly insane. The teams are full of cliques, and people support each other depending on where you belong. Management works exactly the same way. If they like you, or even the way you look, they’ll promote you and give you opportunities. If not, they won’t even give you more working hours. Everything feels very biased and unfair instead of based on actual performance. Overall, it creates a very stressful, fearful, and unhealthy environment to work in. At times, it honestly feels like a modern slavery type of workplace.

Pros

They promote within the company

Cons

They didn’t pay much for the work that you do. But for a young person that is starting their career in retail would be great

Pros

- Decent coworkers -A small discount -A possibility to grow

Cons

• Long hours — either morning to night or afternoon to night shifts, no in between •Frequent callouts, roughly every other week •Pay doesn’t match the hours actually worked •Scheduled like full time despite part time classification, with none of the benefits •Managers often unavailable on the floor •No real work-life balance •High turnover, creating a cycle of overworked remaining staff •Burnout from hours and workload is common •More focus on store aesthetics than on staff wellbeing Overall, I’d look elsewhere. The hours, staffing gaps, and lack of support aren’t worth what you’re paid here.
