Pros

I’ve worked for a handful of places. The guys at Matrix are definitely the hardest working people in the AV Industry. Paul is a great owner and compensates his people well for their work. There’s a reason this place is growing like crazy. He knows the recipe.

Cons

Maybe the hours, if anything.

Pros

The company works with some really impressive clients and they provide LED for some amazing shows and events. Met some great coworkers while being there.

Cons

They are SUPER cheap. I was promised a raise in pay multiple times and never received it. Over worked and under appreciated employees. One person of the upper management team is a joke and knows nothing and can contribute absolutely nothing to better the company. Very unorganized company that barely pulls off their events. Seemed like a great place to work for but ultimately bad management and no progression in my career.

Feedback is a gift and even though it is a sample of one, your comment has stimulated some positive actions over the past year. It is unfortunate a past employee has these feelings. As a fast growing Company, we strive to get better and attracting and retaining quality people is on the top of the list. While we understand your frustration, your comment has allowed us to look within and we have worked on improving employee expectations and morale. This has stimulated us to make a few changes and it starts with better communication : 1) Improve the clarity of job descriptions and the associated roles and responsibilities. New hires desire this and it will help with managing expectations on what are their core responsibilities and what is considered “up and above” contributions. 2) More Company meetings to keep all colleagues informed on the direction of the Company and the focus of the senior management Team. We’ve learn the importance of sharing information and now meet monthly. It helps to build an appreciation for others and allows us a forum to share what we are working on and recognize the contribution of individuals to the overall Company success. 3) Our goal is to pay are employees at or above the market rate for their contribution. If we under pay we risk losing good people. If we over pay we will not remain competitive. As a result, we are doing more salary survey’s to ensure we are fairly compensating our employees for their contribution. As mentioned our goal is to attract and retain the best in the Industry.
