Pros
- Remote first
- Cool technology especially in the Vision/AI team
Cons
Upper management (just below C Suite) are extremely toxic, though very well disguised. They are highly inexperienced, top down, expect yes-men, are amateurish and promoted purely because of nepotism at C Suite. Their claim to be a people first company is only lip service and a facade. You should be in the talent review behind the scenes.
Engineering is heavily driven by Product and QA. Product has no sense of profitability and wants to build every possible futuristic feature. Product will have strong opinions on "How" engineering needs to build things without any engineering sense and will want to drive all things engineering if allowed. Added to that, QA are EXTREMELY TOXIC and love to bash/demean engineering in high visibility meetings, in cahoots with Customer Support to make themselves valued. QA desperately seek cross functional visibility and credit.
Overall, it's a highly dysfunctional, unprofitable company destined to get acquired to survive, as those higher up nicely lined their pockets and escaped a sinking ship.
