Dear Former Employee, Thank you for your review as it helps us better understand the dynamics between the company and it employees. As you properly pointed , we truly believe that been professional does not mean working in a bad mood or placing co-workers in unnecessary stressful situations. We like to laugh and we love what we do, sorry if you confuse it as "lay back" as we are self-driven and do not need to remained every day what to do. You mentioning "drinking", well we do not monitor what each one does after hours and we don't recall any drinking during office hours as you are implying. Pay and benefits: Did you got a salary increase rejected? did you got pay less than what it was offered during the job interview? CEO: is our company policy to keep all doors open, not sure what you were expecting the CEO do specifically for you as we all are well aware that he is looking after the company and its employees as a whole. We all at Mauri Pro Sailing wish you good luck at any future employment or personal adventure.

Pros

Laid back atmosphere, seemed like a family more than coworkers...which is also it's downfall. Owners are very friendly and act very much like your parents than bosses. Very understanding of your schedules Great as a "job" but only as is. Do not plan a career with this company.

Cons

The management is very understanding, but also VERY fickle. Like a family, they expect the most but the reward is maybe just a pat on the back and pretty much ZERO room for growth. There will be impossible goals that they will try to accomplish with being understaffed, while working there, our team consisted of 3 people. The worst part of it is the promise of growth, but with a flick of a switch, they have no qualms with letting you go without any severance or package. -Moderate pay (promises of commissions and raises that usually doesn't amount to anything) -No benefits -Small family business environment (usually means small teams and you will be swamped) -You usually end up doing more than you applied for -No room for growth (ultimately it's their goal, but too many of their side projects causes them to lose money) -High turnover rate (people were in and out, not by their choice constantly)

Pros

Fun workplace. Co-workers are friendly.

Cons

No management, very small company and the owner do whatever he want. No HR, so if you face something wired like sexual harassment you get no way to report.
