- Pay is below industry average
- You can and will be expected to wear more than one hat. It is not uncommon for employees to have 2-3 roles. This is very stressful and leads to poor results.
- Little to no training. Trial by fire. Employees are promoted to positions they are not qualified for and then not given the support they need to succeed.
- There is technically an employee manual but rules are selectively enforced and often ignored or forgotten about. HR is basically non-existent.
- Turnover is a huge problem. A lot of good talent has left the company. Management treats each departure as an isolated incident, and doesn't seem willing to address it as a trend.
- Management is immune from good advice. Ideas are welcomed and then discarded. A lot of people have tried to make the company run like a real business by changing the "startup" mindset they still have after 15 years, and have either left or been forced out.
- The culture of nice at the company is unbalanced. Decisions are often made to "keep the peace" rather than doing what is best or right for the business as a whole. Poor performers are not dealt with, rules are not enforced, clients are not told "no", etc.
