Pros

Serving and assisting families in need or seeking childsupport and or paternity assistance at minimum cost.

Cons

Money hungry! This company is only doing what's best to keep their contract with the state. They are not pro families they are pro getting contract monies. The pay for the job is not sufficient for the work being done. Favouritism is what gets you ahead at this job. Health insurance plan was more on the lines for employees who made at least 30-40,000 a year not employees who made $11.00 an hour.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
