Pros

The office is physically pleasant. Many of the first level supervisors are rather good. Some of the work can be interesting.

Cons

Few paid days off, too much mandatory overtime, not enough federal holidays off. Management acts like its main objective is to compel worker to stay at their desk as long as they can and produce maximum numbers. The higher up in the corporation, the worse it gets. This place is turning me into a socialist.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
