Pros

The only good thing about the job was that I got a paycheck. Period.

Cons

Company engages in age discrimination. The majority of the managers are under 40. They treat CSRs like garbage. Management treats people like dirt. You have to be a favorite to get the plum assignments and promotions. They have people on the floor who do absolutely nothing but shmooze with the supervisor, get paid more money answer less calls and others like me who took maximum calls and was treated like dirt. i suspect it was because I was not young.

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
