Pros

There are no best reasons, this is by far the worst company to work for. If zero starts were allowed they would be deserving of it.

Cons

Little pay, they will train you in different areas and can switch you to different positions without increasing your pay, a lot of busy work instead hiring the right amount of employees to distribute the work evenly and reduce stress. Very unorganized, unprofessional and stressful . This company should be sued for how they treat their employees. These projects must be desperate to still be funding them. I don’t know how they are still functioning, the company should be shut down.

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
