Pros

Employee Ownership is a huge plus as we all reap the rewards of a successful year. The bonus pool is hugely lopsided but that is true with most companies. Recent changes show that Upper Management is trying to listen to employees concerns and take corrective measures but sometimes that feel like lip service.

Cons

Too many people are being promoted that do not have the skills, both technical and emotional, for the positions. Expectations that employees work excessive hours is unrealistic. Just because a person works 50 hrs a week does not make them a better performer than someone who works 40 hrs a week. It could be that they are just unorganized or spinning their wheels. There is a huge disconnect between Upper Management (the Ivory Tower) and the project staff. There has recently been a lot of turn-over. Some of this is due to people who think they should be promoted and getting passed over so they leave. Too many people are promoted not because of what they know but who they know. There are way too many lemmings and not enough true leaders.

Pros

Great company culture, exposure to some amazing projects, project teams are fantastic, camaraderie with your team, great resources and onboarding to ensure you learn to do your job well. ESOP and bonuses are great.. if you stick it out long enough.

Cons

Pay is not as competitive as other GC's, you can be relatively underpaid as they rely too heavily on preaching about the ESOP (which takes you 5 years to even be fully vested). Can be very political and leadership kinda plays favorites, some people who dont deserve it get promoted quick and others who do deserve it never get promoted. Long work hours and depending on the jobsite it can be pretty high-stress (but thats just construction for ya).
