Cons
- No work/life balance at all. Expected to work "optional" training sessions without pay, but if you didn't attend it was frowned upon and brought up in monthly reviews. - I received harassment from store managers and regional managers to the point where fair work was contacted. - HR won't help you whatsoever. The company doesn't address employee issues or complaints, everything is swept under the rug. - Favouritism plays a huge roll here. Don't expect your hard work to be acknowledged or to get anywhere in the company unless you are favoured by managers. - Zero career development. It's impossible to get out of store into head office although they say that they only promote from within. - You'd be lucky to get a part/full time contract. Everyone is a causal yet expected to dedicate themselves to the job at all costs. - Customers are the number one priority above all employees. Employees would receive multiple falsified or embellished customer complaints which would then result in a written warning for the employee. This was regardless of whether the employee was actually at fault or not. - Good luck getting any leave approved! If you ask for more than 2 weeks leave you must resign from the company and reapply after in hopes that you will get your position back. - Strict rules. Tattoos covered, no bright colours in hair, manicured nails and toes only in Mecca nail polish shades, hair up, must wear 3 visible forms of makeup, short nails only, no hair accessories unless sold in store, not allowed to wear shorts, all black clothing no metallic hardware or prints allowed, no jewellery, 2 ear piercings only, no facial piercings, no extravagant colourful makeup (natural only), the list goes on...
