Pros

Honestly, the only reason people do stay here is for the coworkers that help your morale, on-site cafeteria to save money, onsite gym, and the only thing to look forward to, employee appreciation week.

Cons

For a huge major medical device that is owned privately and makes lots of dough, you would think they would offer salaries to compensate for your education and experience. They are severely low for this industry compared to their competitors, which they know but don't do anything about it. If offered a position, they use the basic perks to draw you in, like the gym, lunches, big work stations, commuter buses, and starbucks on site but doesn't accept starbucks cards or the app which is weird. However, the bonuses they add are not guaranteed no matter what they say, it's up to your supervisor and whether they submit them on time which happens to a lot then they miss out on that quarter. You really have to play the favoritism card to get anywhere with your supervisors to move up or get a bonus or pass a probationary period. The fact that I have been here only a year, and just in my dept alone seen 7 people leave either burned out or left for a better opportunity with more pay shows how little they value people. If you are extremely lucky to get an awesome boss with a great team, them stay with it but otherwise get the training and experience they will definitely throw you in and take it and go somewhere else where they will appreciate it and value you as a person and pay you what you are qualified for instead of overcompensating on pointless managers and hiring more managers to overcome the growth challenges. Most of the people here suffer and accept their fate because they feel it's hard to move to another company but in this area there are many more who will offer better packages for quality people. People at Medline mostly don't care about you, only the very few which are hard to find. Managers are micro-managing everything you do and if you have anything to say, they shut you down, as I see it happened countless times in staff meetings and such. Completely rude and egotistical behavior throughout the company. If you go to HR like many of us do, they do absolutely nothing which is a joke. HR doesn't work with you to resolve work issues, they are more concerned with keeping friends with all the heads of the division. Lot of people leave from heavy workloads and lots of pressure but never address why they think a team has a very high turnover rate which is mind-boggling. Overall, get what you need and get out, the ones who survived are usually employees who were there then left and came back to negotiate a higher salary or match their current which is insane but everyone there knows that. Retain your employees by paying them what it is worth and the answer is not in contract temporary positions. Now that you are closer to the city, people have the choice to look around and see their options. It could have been better to stay in the more suburban area so people don't worry about their commute. Now that the door is open, they don't mind seeing other companies, its sad to see but its the truth.
