Pros

You'll make minimum wage and work for stupid people and be forced to do things everyday that literally make no sense what so ever and people will be rude to you daily and the worst customers are meijer employees.

Cons

They'll act like they are paying you more then they are. Every other retailer pays more and has better perks then meijer. Walmart pays more, kmart pays more so does target, Kroger and everyone! meijer point system is worst in the business and does nothing to reward you for good work. One minute late equals a half point. Get sick at work equals a point, call off equals a point, one minute late from break if you get to take a break equals a half point. 12 points your fired! You will work 5 to six days a week but never get forty hours! Even with a sale and your employee discount Walmart will still be less expensive. Local company or not meijer sucks and will not get any of my pay check cause they like to get employees to spend their entire check at meijer.

Great leadership and atmosphere to be a part of. The job always has something new to offer every day so it is very engaging.

Pros

Direct coworkers were great to work with. I also enjoyed being left to do my work and not babysat by management.

Cons

Management doesn't know what they are doing. Resets and floor plans were regularly not done properly. The store I worked at has a skeleton crew so I never got help (but was expected to stop everything I'm going to go help other departments/areas). Also meaning good luck to any customers needing help, especially when I was the only person working my area of the store, so when I wasn't there, no one was. Management also regularly disappeared into the offices or were on vacation. Also was terminated for reasons outside my control even though I was told they look at the reasons for attendance incidents before termination. Never got to get the FMLA or accommodation to my doctors before being terminated two days after I requested them. Didn't bother asking for a raise either. I did multiple times and got nothing.
