Pros

This company is truly a pleasure to work for. I have been here for almost two years and it just keeps getting better. I look forward to coming to work everyday. I believe that this company is just getting started, even though it's been around for three decades. I think starting a career here, especially at this time in it's history may be the best opportunity for those looking for an established, respected company who has it's best years ahead of her. This company is going to continue to grow and will be here for many, many years to come. I feel very secure in my job being around for as long as I am able to perform it. If you are a hard worker who "gets it" you are rewarded, recognition both in the form of compensation and promotions come quickly around here. They value hard work and expect the best out of their employees. We all push each other to be better around here and that culture is very well established. Now to talk to the culture here a bit. It is very important that to be here you hold some of the same values that this company espouses. I would say this is a pretty conservative culture, as most people in this area are of a single faith, that influence is present. I align with those values and so I love that a company stands for something and has an unwavering moral compass. It is often misrepresented that a conservative culture is uncaring towards the environment, but nothing could be further from the truth, in fact, I believe conservatives are more caring about the environment and Melaleuca is aligned with those causes, and practice business in a very low impact to the environment way. The way we package products and the care involved in developing new products is evidence that Melaleuca cares. We reduce plastic consumption by a huge amount and that says a lot in my opinion. I work at the HQ building, but every facility is the same. Very clean, very safe, very nice. The management of this company has done a fantastic job contributing to the beauty of this area and has subsequently helped boost the local economy. Lots of bonus and growth potential here if you are driven to produce great results. A fantastic place to begin and end your career at.

Cons

Some of the downsides to some people may be the exact reason I like it so much here. The culture here is set and you either assimilate or you leave. Not to say that people with different belief systems and ways of thinking aren't accepted here but it can be difficult for someone who doesn't like to conform or doesn't work hard, to be here. Very tight deadlines and high expectations. Excellence in all things is the standard of the day, meaning that you are here to do a job and if you aren't putting 110% into your responsibility, it will be difficult for you. This may not be a con for some people, but I think this could be discouraging to some who don't like to be challenged at their job.

Pros

- side benefits are okay - it is a median sort of job - I personally have some freedom do to personal professional development on the clock when there is no immediate need for my work (happens very little) - People half listen once they know you have been at Melaleuca after about 5 years

Cons

- No management that knows what they are doing - Not very customer-focused - Don't seek to fulfill their strategic imperatives or strategies or mission - Very hard for people to listen to you because you're new - They don't have a lot of integrity - Very slow to solve problems - Don't worry about making improvements in processes or tools we use - Slow AI usage and no proficiency in AI usage, strategies or implementation - Managers micromanage because Melaleuca is "unique" - Most of the positive things they tout all the time serves only the company's image, not the employees - Don't worry about giving raises in a timely manner - Not goal-oriented employer And I could probably keep going, but will stop here.
