Pros

There is lots of good to say about working for Melaleuca. I've worked here for many years, and I have always had great coworkers and supervisors—that means a lot! The Idaho Falls community/area is a wonderful place to live and work and raise a family. Melaleuca has very good benefits for the area (besides insurance, they provide an allowance for company products every month, good 401k, longevity bonuses, and more). One thing sometimes taken for granted is Melaleuca's long-term stability and reliability—I value the stability of the company and my job. I believe their salaries are generally competitive for the area (but may seem low for other markets). And there are a lot of different career paths and opportunities (depending on what you do).

Cons

Being highly productive also means there are a lot of tight timelines to get things done. Along with tight deadlines come a lot of last-minute changes and job requests. People here really do amazing work with the resources, but it would be nice to have a little more bandwidth to do even better work. The global headquarters is a great building, but distance from town can be challenging for lunches, shopping, and errands. Career path and upward movement in the company vary a lot based on your position (but that's not too surprising).

Pros

- side benefits are okay - it is a median sort of job - I personally have some freedom do to personal professional development on the clock when there is no immediate need for my work (happens very little) - People half listen once they know you have been at Melaleuca after about 5 years

Cons

- No management that knows what they are doing - Not very customer-focused - Don't seek to fulfill their strategic imperatives or strategies or mission - Very hard for people to listen to you because you're new - They don't have a lot of integrity - Very slow to solve problems - Don't worry about making improvements in processes or tools we use - Slow AI usage and no proficiency in AI usage, strategies or implementation - Managers micromanage because Melaleuca is "unique" - Most of the positive things they tout all the time serves only the company's image, not the employees - Don't worry about giving raises in a timely manner - Not goal-oriented employer And I could probably keep going, but will stop here.
