Pros
The people you work with are great - this company takes it's culture seriously, and you can have a lot of fun day-to-day within your role. Combined with good financial incentives, it's easy to get 'hooked' on Meltwater. You have to work hard and learn quickly, and if you do, then the job becomes a lot easier - whether your looking after clients or selling new business. You are very much the master of your own destiny too, whether this is the way you manage your clients, implement your selling strategy or plan you career development.
Cons
The career ceiling comes very quickly - after getting into a certain position, it becomes clear there are not many other directions to go. Poor senior management - there is a lack of knowledge at the top level, that you would certainly expect from a global company. This runs through at board level and is present through out each tier of the global management structure. Product-wise - there aren't many strings to the Meltwater bow as a tech/software firm, and updates to the product suite are slow to emerge. Combined with frequent service issues, it sometimes becomes very difficult to deliver on all the umpteen promises that are made to clients at the initial sales stage.
