Just don’t. - PCT/CNA Memorial Hermann Health System Employee Review

Pros

It’s in TMC and close to Starbucks. That’s literally the only pro.

Cons

200$ a month a park on site. Always two steps behind the curve for covid precautions for staff. No hazard pay. No wage increases. Forced workforce to join the labor pool to address their staffing issues. My unit was always dangerously understaffed and constantly out of essential items for patient care ‘due to the supply chain issues’ when they just didn’t order appropriately. The pay is easily 5-6 dollars below market rate for techs, and the nurses are also underpaid for market value. Toxic management is not handled appropriately. MMHS and David Callender do not care about staff safety at all. We were/are all completely expendable. He got a nice bonus this year though and so did my manager so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but none of that matters when this hospital is hemorrhaging staff.

Pros

Quality care. Patient focused. Room for growth depending on skill but sometimes based on who you know which is a con. Lots of great providers who really care.

Cons

A lot of politics and favortism. People get promoted in leadership that don't deserve it which makes for a miserable experience for those working with them . Some senior leaders are disrespectful, overly demanding, disregard others time and effort, manipulative, aggressive, belittling, don't understand the workload of others, inflict punishment based on their feelings or because they want to, do things for their own benefit and are dishonest.
