Pros

$2.50 extra pay per hour on weekends. Every other weekend off for most stores. 10% OFF employee discount. Learn how to work your butt off. Year end IPS check for going over 1,000 hours of work. If not yet graduated, you get a $2 raise once you do. Holiday gifts in the mail from Menards.

Cons

Raises consist of tiny 10 cent raises every 6 months to a year. Not many opportunities to move up. You are basically a number, not a name. Breaks are hard to come by because it is busy most of the time and they do not have enough employees working. You will get very long shifts, up to 12 hours, especially on weekends. Not much learned as far as customer service, just how to work hard. You will really notice capitalism at it's full potential while at Menards. If I could compare Menards to anything, I would say it is the Walmart of hardware and home convenience stores.

Pros

A few of the people are nice to work with.

Cons

A store manager who talks down to employees like they're children (and apparently gets promoted for it). A store manager who acts like employees are idiots for calling him to ask questions. Raises are pathetic. Understaffed because the store manager won't allow enough labor hours to do the job, particularly on Sundays when there's a lot of freight.
