Pros
- you might get early ownership of few things. - you might face customers, hence get exposure to customer handling. - good mentoring culture to nurture your skills. - less hectic compared to product companies sometimes.
Cons
- as it is an EDA company, so less exposure to VLSI technologies compared to product companies. - quality of work isn't good. you'll learn less about vlsi hardware compared to IP/SoC design/DV in other companies. So it'll become very difficult for you to switch job to product company or go to MS if you spend more time over here. - Management isn't very supportive at Various times due to which you might land up in difficult situations. - Injustice and wrong expectations: Manager also question you on the reason of sick leave and expects you to work. - they don't even go by their words on offer letter and expects everyone to work more then 60 days in notice period. - experienced people aren't treated well. Moreover, they don't value your interests/alignment like design folks might be valued less then verification/ automation folks. - lot of favoritism. No transparency w.r.t promotion/package. There could be Huge difference within a group for same level. - after Siemens acquisition, culture have changed a lot and various perks also reduced. Also, work load had increased. - after Siemens, overall policies are not good for employees for long run. - RSUs are given to very few people at low level or at higher levels. - compensation is quite less compared to market at same level and competence. - Lot of attrition because of above mentioned points again causing work pressure.
