Pros
- Benefits (salary, pension contribution, bonus scheme) are generally very good - State of the art facilities - On-site gym is fantastic - The way the company dealt with the COVID pandemic cannot be faulted - The work can be very interesting, rewarding and impactful - There is always the opportunity to learn new skills - Colleagues are generally very helpful and knowledgeable - A great deal of responsibility is given to those who choose to take it on - The prestige of working in Formula 1
Cons
- Long hours are required. There is no way around this and your social and personal life will sometimes have to suffer. - Limited career progression. The company does not focus on personal development and growth. Those who progress quickly and do well are self-starters and take the initiative. - Flat structure. This is either a pro or con depending on your outlook but because the structure is so flat it can be difficult to progress through the ranks. - Very little formal training and most of the learning is on the job. - Northamptonshire is not the most exciting place to live. This happens to be one of the main factors in peoples decision to eventually leave. - Variable management. Some team leaders are excellent to work for... others not so much. A great deal of your overall satisfaction and wellbeing depends on who your team leader is and this is something you have no control over. - Senior management are not always supportive. It is obvious that senior management have their favourites and these are the people who get preferential treatment. Everyone else doesn't matter so much.
