Pros
If you get into a good department you can find managers who are willing to stand up for you and make sure you get what you need to do a good job, both as a person and as an employee.
Cons
There is a culture of "the executives can do no wrong" despite them losing money. They are unwilling to be introspective and look at themselves as a possible cause of problems. Turnover is certain departments is exceptionally high.
