Pros
- Great health benefits - Subsidized snack bar - Great, smart people to work with and socialize with
Cons
- Poor transparency: Before COVID hit, one member of exec team told all employees there would be NO layoffs, we were just having a "short term cash flow situation". Employees were told that they "temporarily" wouldn't receive promised bonuses. Fast forward a month later, and almost half the company was put on furlough with NO warning to any middle or lower management. Fast forward one more month, and 10% of the company was laid off- again, with no warning or discussion with middle or lower management. - Low pay: Pay was really low for the work that was expected. The benefits did make up for some of it, but not all of it. - High turnover: I saw numerous turnovers of middle managers during my time there - The CEO doesn't seem to have a clue what the company is doing, scientifically or financially. It's being pulled in ten different directions at once. - HR was disastrous in handling laid off and furloughed employees. Communication and execution of this was poor to put it delicately. - Also, if you keep up with investing in biotech... Metabolon has been digging a deeper and deeper hole with loans and venture capital - Doesn't seem like the outlook is great overall
