Pros
-Willing to hire new grads
-Great RRSP plan (8% of base salary, doesn't need to be matched)
-Free snacks and monthly lunches
-Work from home is possible
Cons
-Terrible long- and short-term product and company planning
-Decent initial compensation but they won't discuss raises after that
-Upper management is over-involved in the day-to-day of the company, leading to lots of management structure confusion & micromanagement at all levels
-Working with dated technology, and management is unwilling to upgrade if anything new costs money or takes up employee time
-Inconsistent application of "flexible" work hours - only seems to apply to employees who have been there a long time (10+ years) and/or employees who have kids
-No formal training or mentorship whatsoever, you're on your own
-Little to no documentation of code or processes
-Stressful boom & bust attitude; when there's work there's lots of it and not enough people, so expect to work OT. When there's not enough work, you'll be expected to find work for yourself with no direction. There's also a chance you'll be reprimanded for not finding 'appropriate' work
-No real path for growth or improvement, no career ladder, no process for promotion or salary discussion
