Pros
The company has excellent benefits and excellent above market average pay.
Cons
Toxicity that is magnified because the bank is small. Type A culture that is completely unwarranted and self-imposed. Lying during the interview process, heavy micromanaging, poor leadership. The CEO was investigated for taking out a "loan" of $7+ million for stock purchases that was stopped by the legal department. HR is under constant audit pressure, and for good reason due to the lawsuits against the bank for wrongful terminations. I myself have seen a disabled woman being fired for being sick. When asked why, I was told she "abandoned" her position, which of course I knew was nonsense. The employees are frankly overpaid. They are keenly aware of this and pretend in order to justify the salaries. The CEO is clueless, and this can be easily heard on conference calls and most importantly quarterly earnings calls where he stammers and relies on his CFO to fill in the gaps of his lack of knowledge (he does not have college education and is very unaware of business regulation in NY State, with nonsensical propositions such as elimination of sick time and reliance on PTO, for example). HR is a mess, with two girls who do not seek to share work and horde it for themselves in order to justify their positions. The HR department is ruthless if they do not deem you to mesh with their unique “culture.”
