Pros

MAPRagency, formerly Metzger Albee Public Relations, is one of Boulder's most prominent PR firms and a great place to work. The team consists of industry experts, both male and female, who strive to provide clients with exceptional service. MAPR comes with all the perks millennials love -- unlimited flex time, freedom to work remotely, a fridge full of snacks, beer and whatever else your heart desires.

Cons

This is a tech-focused firm and learning the clientele can be challenging! You need to be able to multitask and become an industry expert for a variety of fields. If you want to work remotely, you will need to be a self-motivated, organized person who is able to use their time wisely.

Pros

MAPRagency, formerly Metzger Associates, is a boutique PR agency with offices in Boulder and Denver. If you are a career-oriented individual who wants direct access to the CEO--which is unusual even in smaller agencies--then MAPR is the place for you. When I worked at MAPR I was able to gain valuable PR experience in a variety of emerging tech fields—cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, agtech, IoT, real estate tech, to name a few—and was able to learn directly from our CEO, who has over 30 years of PR experience. MAPR has an in-house graphic designer, as well as a digital strategist, so if you are also interested in securing SEO or graphic design experience, MAPR will allow you to train in those fields. MAPR has a unique, fun company culture (quarterly events to celebrate the staff and holiday parties) and everyone operates as a team. The environment is fun and supportive. An added bonus: MAPR has a very generous PTO program (hint, it’s unlimited) and employees are offered two work from home days a month.

Cons

I only commuted to the Boulder office once a week, but sometime traffic on 36 would make the commute slightly longer than normal. The express lane is a great option, though, when traffic is higher than normal.
