A Tough Place to Work - Sales Micro Solutions Enterprises Employee Review

Pros

Management strives to offer a fair salary, product training is solid.

Cons

Micro management is rampant, it's very difficult when decisions are constantly overridden. Benefits are on the lower end (no 401k, one week vacation after one year, one week after two years), comp time is unheard of. Management appears to manage "on the fly," they put a procedure in place one week, it's gone the second week. One major problem out of MSE's control is their customers. A large percentage come off as beggars, always pleading for a lower price. MSE is not a slimy company, but the toner remanufacturing industry is, due to a lot of resellers who can't see beyond anything other than lowest prices. MSE manufactures a good product, but it's not as above the industry standard as it once was due to improvements most other remanufacturers has made. This puts MSE at a disadvantage, because they ask for higher prices based on their "remanufactured engineering," yet their defects are close to other manufacturers.

Pros

Decent salary, decent benefits, stable company but changed dramatically. Personally, I enjoyed my time there - outside of never EVER having a review or salary increase. They hire great people and your collegues will make you happy to tolerate it

Cons

When a company let's a top performer go (while secretly moving a family member in to manage the account) and lets EVERY sales and BDM go (except for family) and when they have gone through probably 1/2 dozen R&D and QC engineers in the past 5 years, and when 90% of people hate the VP of Sales, one has to wonder.... If dozens of quality people leave or get let go (because they are making too much money) and find happy careers - management needs to take a hard look at themselves.
