Pros

The clients are amazing and wonderful people. It’s great to see them succeed and grow. There are some amazing employees there that will help you stay sane until they also leave.

Cons

You will not have help when you ask for it. Instead it will be “refer to your job description” or “refer to your training.” The assistance provided is dicey at best because there is triangulation and a lack of real communication. The supervisor speaks of not being a micromanager but he also just can’t be bothered to help or is incapable. There’s a reason the courts are mad and it’s not for nothing. Benefits are unaffordable. Multiple employees have more than one full time job just to have affordable insurance even though the work here requires higher education and stressful work loads. Report sexual harassment? Don’t expect anything to be done. This place does not have an HR. Instead it’s US v THEM. A quick check in with probation officers and paying attention to a high turnover will help you see the problem eventually, but everyone gave up hope on that being noticed. Hypocritical when one of their own was struggling with substance use. Doesn’t fire people who never show up or arrive on time. Bad employees can stay employed as long as other employees pick up the slack for them. In just the past two months they have lost six employees. Six employees and still haven’t replaced even half. Workload increases while staff decreases with no end in sight. As long as the big wigs see the work getting done, they aren’t in a rush to replace anyone or hire new employees for a good wage because they know the staff will feel guilted into it. The staff here cares about the clientele so much that they’d rather do more work than they can handle just to help the clients. “Anonymous” company surveys never get addressed. People have the same complaints and still, nothing changes. Employees have zero control and zero say about anything. You are just another warm body with a pulse here.
