Pros
Decent flexibility on childcare needs
Cons
A toxic company culture which is more about finding faults in employees work and punish them for this. Over promising is commonplace, such as promising bonuses that never materialise, as there is always something found to be wrong. Being shouted at in front other members of staff is commonplace, both face to face and over videocalls. If you speak up against the company and company culture you are being made redundant, which I have seen on multiple occasions, as well hear from other colleagues that it's something that's always been going on. Planning ahead is unheard of, and everything is done last minute. One example is where you are asked to go to another country to work, and the flight leaves that same day. You are just expected to have your childcare and affairs sorted. This is also written into your contract so it cannot be questioned either. I have been told "This is not a normal 9 to 5 job" and you are expected to work overtime at the senior management leisure, but OT is not paid in cash, you only get time back in lieu. If sales are bad, it's at the customer service departments or warehouses fault, which have been used as an excuse to not pay out bonuses in the past.
