Pros

I’ve been working for Miller Environmental Group for over 10 years and they couldn’t be more accommodating. I worked in their Westbury location close to 3 years and asked for a transfer to their Hudson Valley region because I wanted to move closer to family and to buy a home, they couldn’t have been more accommodating allowing me to make this move. A few years ago, my wife became very ill, and they couldn’t have been more flexible with my time to take care of her. The work is certainly interesting and not boring. Every day there is a new task and always something new to learn. They offer a great benefits package, paid vacation, and have a great family holiday party every year. I highly recommend Miller Environmental Group.

Pros

This is a joke right?

Cons

Since its inception, the company has consistently demonstrated a failure to adhere to labor laws and ethical standards. The following areas outline the systemic issues encountered during my tenure: Wage and Benefit Discrepancies: There is a documented pattern of unauthorized payroll deductions labeled as "Miscellaneous" without prior disclosure. Furthermore, the company has failed to consistently remit employee 401(k) contributions and promised employer matches. Most critically, there are instances of gross underpayment for hours worked (e.g., 25 hours paid for 60 hours of labor), which constitutes a direct violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Negligent Hiring and Operational Instability: The company engages in predatory hiring practices, including recruiting via referrals for positions that are terminated shortly thereafter, suggesting a lack of fiscal planning or transparency regarding job security. Health and Safety Violations: Management maintains a negligent approach to workplace safety. Despite mandatory drug testing policies, there is documented evidence of employees utilizing synthetic urine to bypass screens. Management has knowingly allowed the active abuse of prescription medication on-site, creating a hazardous work environment. Contractual and Travel Misrepresentation: Employees are frequently sent on out-of-state assignments under false pretenses regarding duration (e.g., 2-week assignments extending to 5 months) and are subjected to restricted freedom of movement. Discriminatory Termination and Lack of Due Process: My recent termination was the result of a verbal altercation initiated by a colleague. Despite acting in self-defense, I was terminated without an investigation or explanation. This suggests a biased disciplinary process based on gender rather than a factual review of the incident.
