Pros

The only good reason to work here is to gain experience as a Bus Operator before going somewhere else. Nothing Else.

Cons

Low pay. Contracted-out nature of work, as YRT is the ultimate client and decision maker. Safety is not valued here. I was threatened with termination when I refused to do the U-Turn at the Bernard Terminal on Route 86 Newkirk-Red Maple and took the safer alternative of going around the block instead (This happened in April 2022). Half of the buses in the fleet are extremely old and should not even be on the road too. The union (UFCW 1006A) is very useless as well. They talk a good game with promises, but when push comes to shove with management, they will turn on you and side with management.
