Pros

Miranda Creative has an interesting collection of clients and projects walk through the doors. Company allows remote days after 3 months. They just updated their insurance policy to be slightly more affordable. Pet friendly.

Cons

Miranda Creative can be a great deal of promises and little action. There is little room for growth whether it be personal or internal. Not good for long term success. (Maybe not even worth short term experience.) Overall teammates were visibly unhappy. Some of the major reasons for the bleak atmosphere is that many where hired to do one job and then found themselves duped into doing completely different roles. These situations make it difficult for you to do your best work. Other factors to not excelling in a field that you are passionate about here is poorly run projects, very unrealistic deadlines, administration not well versed in newer technologies and methodologies. (Which creates a communication barrier when discussing projects and solutions.) Pay is below average for positions and for workload. All these problems may have simple solutions however Miranda Creative lacks a full-time (if any) human resource personnel. This made it difficult for team members to speak up with issues emerged. When there is a table for discussion administration is unkind and unprofessional which in turn makes employees feel worthless and intimidates employees.

Thank you for taking the time to review Miranda Creative. These reviews are monitored, taken to heart and applied to our changes/growth. As a 30-year enterprise, we know we will not be a fit for all colleagues, but seek to do our best to adjust roles, needs, and environment as is possible within an industry based on deadlines. Based on the input of our team, we hired an HR expert (February of this year), who has helped provide the necessary outlet for colleagues and supported both the needs of employees/employer. Any questions, concerns or feedback are welcome. We are a very transparent organization and the principal can be reached at mmiranda@mirandacreative.com. Thank you.

Pros

This agency is dedicated to its community - not just in it for the dollar - a community of employees and clients. I joined to support the team remotely and felt as though I'd always been there (even via Zoom) in a very short time. With over ten years of various agency experiences, it's refreshing to see an owner who goes above and beyond for her employees while tending to client relationships. New spirits are encouraged to shine, and those who've been in the industry for a while are challenged to go outside of their comfort zones. Growing families, life's unexpected happenings, and even National Grilled Cheese Day show how much understanding and support for work/life balance resides at 18 Elm Street. This is not an agency run by fear; it's run by communication with care.

Cons

Agency life - in general - is not meant for everyone. You need to be able to juggle different clients in different industries working towards very different goals, sometimes in the span of an hour. Clients can be demanding, and fires pop up, but when it's truly a team effort, as it is at Miranda Creative, it becomes less of an issue. She worries about overall reputation, NOT her own ego. Sure, the owner can be a little quirky, but that's a must for the level of success and growth that she's been able to accomplish. And well, it's generally delightful to see what drives her spirit. Many cons of working at an agency aren't present here because leadership pays attention and actually listens. If things get to be too much, speak up! Everyone is ready to drop what they're doing to support their colleagues - including the owner. Even as a consultant, I've not felt this appreciated as an employee... maybe ever...

Pros

My time here was decent. Everyone was friendly and passionate about helping their clients. This agency works hard for its clients and has established a good reputation based on that. It is successful for a reason.

Cons

There's too many dumpster fires and sometimes it is obvious to the client. The obvious answer is to slow down business as to not to overwhelm the team but for some reason, that's not an option. SOPs are nonexistent. There were also some issues between leadership and team members of ethnic descent that were unsavory. It is best to hire based on talent, not appearances or classifications. I would suggest a blind hiring process. I also did not have much of a personal life the entire time I worked here.
