Pros
So this is my honest appraisal of working at Misco having been asked by management to write reviews to help cover up some of the more negative ones. I have been at Misco nearly two months now and I can say I do enjoy it to a certain degree. The induction period although boring was actually useful however after that period you are then left to either sink or swim, life in the New Biz team isn’t all roses it is hard and the support from the managers is not great almost non-existent, you get the standard “how much you going to bring in today” and the “make some more calls because he in the other room is on my back about our stats” but other than that the support isn’t really there. I will say the staff are fantastic at account manager level and everyone is very friendly in general although I have witnessed a couple of incidents of unpleasantness one resulting in physical violence although that was dealt with swiftly but it’s still not nice to see and something I have never witnessed before in a workplace. The company does have a sense of that it’s living off of its name and a certain degree of arrogance and the living of the name part is not necessarily a good thing as a lot of customers I speak to we have upset or wronged plus we are pretty expensive too compared to others. Vendor call out days are absolutely pointless in my eyes even the managers say “yes entertain them and look interested as they are paying us money to come in and do this but don’t bother focusing on them as they won’t get you to your target” lots of fake quoting goes on too just to keep the vendors happy when in reality no one is talking about their products. Will I stay here? Hopefully not. I hear daily conversations with others saying they are looking elsewhere too we have recently lost our top performing sales guy too which I think speaks for itself.
Cons
I've never worked in a company before where you have to bring in your own tea and coffee, I do feel that we are treated like children but that might be down to the young workforce in place, little support from my line manager and there is an element of favouritism where he helps out people he knows personally outside of work.
