Pros
Most of my teammates, easy to operate cash register, I get to enthusiastically shout fry, bps, or cheeseburger down at my teammates!
Cons
Ok so a bit off topic, but I had no idea I wasn’t the only one with Autism here, lol! Though I don’t think that person works at the same one as me, it’s nice to know I’m not alone! I was fortunate enough to have the best trainer in the entire Mission BBQ company, so I almost feel like I cheated in a way and got an easy pass. I kind of see where they’re coming from though, because I often was scared I would come off as slow too, but upon bringing up this concern I was told I was doing great so I felt better. However, I openly communicated with some of my teammates/friends that if I’m not doing something up to standard, that I would very much like for them to openly tell me as I often miss social queues. I cant even tell if someone’s mad at me, which sucks when I don’t realize and still continue to talk to them like we’re cool. If the person who left the other review sees this, I think you should talk to your team about it! I don’t think I’ve ever been in a place where I wasn’t immediately disqualified for a position upon mentioning I had autism. Every other place I did my best to keep it under wraps, so when my hiring manager was very understanding I was elated! And if even after communicating your issue with your team, you still face issues…you could always transfer to the location I’m at! Another thing, copying is the fastest way of learning. I memorized word for word what I was told and then practiced for about 30 minutes before my third shift and it stuck! I also have it written down and rehearse it every now and then…which is totally not weird and perfectly normal…I hope.
