Pros
The mentorship at the AGO is second to none. My supervisors took the time to thoughtfully review my work and provided detailed, constructive feedback that significantly improved my legal writing. Interns are trusted with substantive assignments and receive meaningful guidance throughout the process. You're not just writing memos that collect dust—your work matters. On top of that, the people are fantastic—welcoming, supportive, and genuinely invested in your development. I would enthusiastically recommend the AGO to any law student. The skills and experience you gain here will serve you well in any area of legal practice.
Cons
There aren't any real cons to the internship itself. The only minor downside was the ongoing construction on Highway 63, which made the commute from Columbia a bit longer—but that’s obviously outside the AGO’s control.
