Pros

Teaching in Bahrain offers the chance to experience a new culture and work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. It’s a valuable opportunity for personal and professional growth, and can serve as a stepping stone to better schools in the region.

Cons

This school struggles with supporting its teachers and maintaining a fair, respectful work environment. Only a select few are recognized for their efforts, often based on one or two biased observations, while others are overlooked regardless of their dedication and results. It creates a culture of favoritism and discouragement. There is a strong lack of trust in teachers. Staff are constantly monitored through cameras, down to the smallest actions, which creates a stressful and uncomfortable working atmosphere. Rather than feeling supported, teachers often feel scrutinized. Resources are extremely limited - even basic things like printing are restricted, which adds unnecessary stress to daily planning. Teachers are expected to do a lot with very little. The constant turnover reflects how undervalued many staff feel. While the role has potential, meaningful change would require better leadership, more consistent support, and a fairer approach to recognizing teacher contributions.
